M. Fabrikant posts $640,000 June operating loss

Pittsburgh, July 26 - M. Fabrikant & Sons, Inc. reported a $640,000 operating loss for June on $3.15 million in sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The figures showed improvement over a $1.52 million May operating loss on $2.04 million in sales.

The net loss for June was $2.96 million, narrowing from a $58.39 million May net loss.

Cash on June 30 was $9.72 million, compared with $9.09 million at the end of May.

M. Fabrikant, a New York-based manufacturer and distributor of diamonds and gemstone jewelry, filed for Chapter 11 on Nov. 17, 2006. Its case number is 06-12737.
