M. Fabrikant & Sons posts $2.22 million February operating loss

Pittsburgh, March 16 - M. Fabrikant & Sons, Inc. reported a $2.22 million operating loss for February on $1.15 million in sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
The figures show a decline over a $1.04 million January operating loss on $4.65 million in sales.
The net loss for February was $9.98 million, up from a $2.28 million January net loss.
Cash on Feb. 28 was $8.91 million, compared with $7.21 million at the end of January.
M. Fabrikant, a New York-based manufacturer and distributor of diamonds and gemstone jewelry, filed for Chapter 11 on Nov. 17. Its case number is 06-12737.
