Merrill Lynch to price 0% Mitts linked to Nikkei 225

Seattle, Sept. 6 - Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. plans to price an issue of 0% Market Index Target-Term Securities (Mitts) senior unsecured notes due April 2010 linked to the Nikkei 225 index, according to a 424B3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are expected to settle in October.

Payout at maturity will be par of $10.00 plus 110% of any positive gain on the index. Investors will receive at least par.

The company has applied to list the securities on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol "MNL."

Merrill Lynch, Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc. will be the underwriter.
