Meridian posts $2.2 million June operating income

Pittsburgh, July 21 - Meridian Automotive Systems Inc. reported $2.2 million in June operating income on sales of $80.82 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

In May, the company posted $4.61 million in operating income on sales of $92.06 million.

The net loss for June was $18.02 million, up from a $4.73 million net loss in May.

As at the end of May, the company reported zero cash on June 30.

Meridian, a Dearborn, Mich., supplier of front and rear end modules, lighting, exterior composites, console modules, instrument panels and other interior systems to automobile and truck manufacturers, filed for bankruptcy on April 26. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-11168.
