Meridian Automotive posts $384,000 June operating income

Pittsburgh, Aug. 15 - Meridian Automotive Systems, Inc. reported $384,000 in operating income for June on $72.4 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The June figures show improvement over a $248,000 May operating loss on $70.46 million in net sales.

The net loss for June was $10.49 million, down slightly from a $10.80 million May net loss.

The company again reported zero cash at the end of June, the same as at the end of May.

Meridian, a Dearborn, Mich., supplier of lighting, exterior composites, console modules, instrument panels and other interior systems to automobile and truck manufacturers, filed for bankruptcy on April 26, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-11168.
