Fitch rates MEG Energy notes B+

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a B+/RR3 rating to MEG Energy's eight-year senior notes.

Proceeds, along with cash on hand, are intended to refinance the company's senior notes due 2024.

The company’s issuer default rating is B, and the outlook is stable.

“Fitch views the refinancing as a positive given the extension of the bond maturity and a slight reduction in interest costs,” the agency said in a news release.
