By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 28 - Medusa Medical Technologies Inc. said it closed a $4 million round of financing with a group of international and regional investors.

InNOVAcorp and Canadian International Capital Inc. also participated in the round.

"This financing will enable Medusa to expand its market share and execute its business plan of becoming a leading supplier of electronic patient care reporting software to the pre-hospital market," chairman Glen Dexter said in a news release.

Medusa develops and markets software for Emergency Medical Service providers such as ambulances and first-responder fire departments.

The company has a distribution agreement with Medtronic, Inc. focused on the North American market and a contract with a technology services company to provide its solution in England.

Medusa is a medical technology company located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
