MedQuist to consider sale

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 2 - The board of directors of MedQuist Inc. is considering whether a sale of the company is in shareholders' best interests. Koninklijke Philips Electronics NV said it would sell its 70% ownership of MedQuist if "a satisfactory price and other acceptable terms can be realized," a company news release stated.

It was previously reported on July 11 that MedQuist retained Bear, Stearns & Co. to assist in its review of strategic alternatives.

MedQuist is a medical transcription technology and services company based in Mt. Laurel, N.J.
