MediaNews $300 million 10-year notes talked at 6¾%-6 7/8%

St. Louis, Nov. 19 - The price talk is 6¾%-6 7/8% on MediaNews Group, Inc.'s upcoming sale of $300 million 10-year senior subordinated notes (B+), according to an informed source.

The deal is expected to price on Thursday, the source added.

Deutsche Bank Securities and Banc of America Securities are joint bookrunners on the Rule 144A/Regulation S offering

MediaNews will use proceeds to repurchase or redeem its 8¾% senior subordinated notes due 2009

The company is the Denver-based parent of Garden State Newspapers, which owns and operates daily and non-daily newspapers in 10 states.
