By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 25 - Harbinger Capital Partners Master Fund I, Ltd. notified Media General, Inc. of its nomination for election as class A directors J. Daniel Sullivan, F. Jack Liebau Jr. and Eugene I. Davis, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Sullivan has 30 years of experience in the television broadcasting industry and has owned, managed and operated over 60 television stations.

Since 2003, Liebau has been president of Liebau Asset Management Co.

Davis has been chairman and chief executive officer of Pirinate Consulting Group, LLC since 1999.

In December, Harbinger announced that it reserves the right to discuss alternatives that Media General "could employ to maximize shareholder value" as well as to nominate candidates for election to the board, according to a prior SEC filing.

Harbinger beneficially owns 4,058,454 shares, or 18.4%, of the Richmond, Va., communications company.
