Media General investor reports change of ownership

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 6 - Media General, Inc. investor J. Stewart Bryan III voluntarily resigned from his position as co-trustee of two separate trusts effective Sept. 1 and no longer shares voting power and dispositive power over the shares in these trusts.

As of Aug. 31, the first trust held 206,400 class A shares and the second trust held 206,300 class A shares, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The number of class A shares reported by Bryan includes the number of class B shares of Media General held by Media Trust and convertible into an equal number of class A shares at the holder's option. Bryan is the sole trustee of Media Trust with sole voting power and sole dispositive power.

The total number of shares of Media General class A common stock owned by Bryan is 1,352,099, or 5.93% of the company's outstanding stock.

Media Trust owns 466,162 shares, or 2.07%, of the Richmond, Va., communications company.
