S&P: McMoRan Exploration view negative

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on McMoRan Exploration Co. to negative from stable and affirmed its B corporate credit rating.

The actions follow McMoRan's announcement that it plans to acquire Plains Exploration & Production Co.'s shallow water Gulf of Mexico properties in a transaction valued at about $818 million, according to the agency.
