MAXjet exclusive plan filing period extended to Aug. 20

Pittsburgh, March 25 - MAXjet Airways, Inc. obtained an extension to its exclusive periods to file a Chapter 11 plan and to solicit votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Aug. 20 from April 22 and the solicitation period to Oct. 20, 2008 from Aug. 20.

The company said since filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy, it has been almost entirely focused on winding down its operations, the sale proposal process and preparing schedules and statements of financial affairs. The company said only now is it ready to begin formulating a Chapter 11 plan.

MAXjet was an all-business-class airline based in Dulles, Va. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Dec. 24. Its case number is 07-11912.
