DBRS: ABN Amro unchanged

DBRS said the ABN Amro Group NV's issuer and long-term debt ratings are unchanged at A. Also are unchanged are ABN Amro Bank NV's A (high) issuer and long-term debt ratings. The trend remains stable.

The group released its results for the six months ended June 30. While the underlying results are lower year over year, the agency considers them acceptable given the recessionary environment in the Netherlands, which accounts for 83% of the group's operating income. The agency said ABN Amro's capital level continues to strengthen and the franchise remains sound, underpinned by its leading retail banking franchise.
