Maronda Homes expects to emerge from bankruptcy in mid December

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 2 - Maronda Homes Inc.'s joint plan of reorganization is expected to be confirmed by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania by Dec. 14, according to an attorney familiar with the case following a hearing on Friday.

Objections from creditors had to be overcome prior to a ruling, and no confirmation order has been issued.

The company expects to emerge from bankruptcy shortly thereafter, the attorney said.

Maronda, a homebuilder based in Clinton, Pa., filed for bankruptcy on April 18, 2011. The Chapter 11 case number is 11-22418.
