Mariner Energy launches $200 million 10-year notes via JP Morgan

By Paul A. Harris

St. Louis, April 24 - Mariner Energy, Inc. began a brief roadshow on Tuesday for its $200 million offering of 10-year senior notes (Caa1/B-), according to market sources.

The roadshow wraps up Wednesday, with the deal expected to price on Thursday.

JP Morgan has the books for the Securities and Exchange Commission-registered deal. Other syndicate names are expected to emerge.

The notes come with five years of call protection.

Proceeds will be used to repay bank debt.

The issuer is a Houston-based independent oil and gas exploration, development and production company.
