Marcal Paper Mills reports $2 million November operating loss

Pittsburgh, Jan. 23 - Marcal Paper Mills, Inc. reported a $2 million operating loss for November on $32.5 million in sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.

The November figures showed a decline over a $766,000 operating loss for October, when the company posted $34.45 million in sales.

The net loss for November was $5.41 million, widening from a $3.47 million October net loss.

Cash on Nov. 30 was $3.83 million, compared with $6.47 million at the end of October.

Marcal Paper Mills, an Elmwood Park, N.J., manufacturer and distributor of bath tissue, kitchen towels, napkins and facial tissue, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 30, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-21886.
