Noonday ups stake in Manor Care

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 5 - Manor Care, Inc. investors led by Noonday Asset Management, LP bought and sold shares of the company's stock in a series of transactions between Oct. 15 and Oct. 24.

The transactions were reported in a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The reporting persons own 2,460,300 shares, or 3.4%, of the Toledo, Ohio-based provider of short-term post-acute and long-term health care. Noonday reported a 2.6% stake in Manor Care on Oct. 15.

Manor Care announced on Oct. 17 that its stockholders approved the company's merger with an affiliate of the Carlyle Group.

As previously reported, the merger agreement to take the company private gives Manor Care stockholders $67 cash per share, with the $6.3 billion transaction slated to close in the fourth quarter.
