New Issue: MannKind discloses details on $175 million private placement of stock

New York, Aug. 5 - MannKind Corp. has released the details of its previously announced $175,000,131 private placement.
The company sold 17,131,682 shares at $10.215 each to Adage Capital Partners LP, Biomed Partners, LLC, Amaranth Global Equities Master Fund Ltd., Amaranth LLC, Atlas Master Fund, Ltd., Brookside Capital Partners Fund, LP, D3 LifeScience Ltd., Deerfield International Ltd., Deerfield Partners LP, Fidelity Contrafund: Fidelity Advisory New Insights Fund, Vanable Insurance Partners Fund II, Contrafund Portfolio, Aries Domestic Fund LP, Aries Domestic Fund II, LP, Aries Master Fund II, Oracle U.S. Partners LLC, Narragansett, LP, Narragansett Offshore, Ltd., The Edtrom Family Trust, The Kensa Family Trust, T. Rowe Price Associates, Tange Capital Partners, Kings Road Investments Ltd. and MannKind chief executive officer Alfred E. Mann's family trust.
The investors also received warrants for 3,426,340 shares, exercisable at $12.228 each through Aug. 5, 2010.
Wachovia Capital Markets, LLC and Leerink Swann & Co. were the placement agents for the offering.
Based in Valencia, Calif., MannKind is a biotechnology company focused on therapeutic treatments for cancer and diabetes.
