Malaysia Airlines may consider Islamic bond issue as funding option

Madison, Wis., May 2 - Malaysian Airline System Bhd. (d/b/a Malaysia Airlines) may be considering a RM 3 billion Islamic bonds issue, according to a Bursa Malaysia announcement.

The potential offering was mentioned in an article dated April 29.

The company told Bursa Malaysia that it is considering various funding options and will make further announcements once those funding plans are finalized.

Malaysia Airlines is the government-owned flag carrier of Malaysia and is based in Subang, Selangor, Malaysia.
