By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 12 – Magnetation LLC’s official committee of unsecured creditors was appointed Tuesday by Region 12 U.S. trustee Daniel McDermott, according to a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota.

The committee members are Mark D. Taylor of FLSmidth USA, Inc. of Midvale, Utah; Stephanie Fang of Outotec (USA) Inc. of Jessup, Md.; and Jeffrey L. Secrist of Dilling Group, Inc. of Logansport, Ind.

The U.S. Trustee has designated Mark Taylor as the acting chairman of the committee until the members can meet and elect their own chairman.

Magnetation, a joint venture between Magnetation, Inc. and AK Steel Corp., recovers high-quality iron ore concentrate from previously abandoned iron ore waste stockpiles and tailings basins. It is based in Grand Rapids, Minn., and filed for bankruptcy on May 5 under Chapter 11 case number 15-50307.
