Anheuser-Busch sets record date, but not meeting date, for InBev merger vote

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 24 - Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. set Oct. 3 as the record date for its special meeting for shareholders to consider and vote on the company's proposed combination with InBev NV/SA.

No meeting date has been set, according to an Anheuser-Busch news release.

Anheuser-Busch's board of directors unanimously recommends that its shareholders approve the transaction, the release said. Shareholders will receive $70 per share.

InBev, a Leuven, Belgium-based brewing company, and St. Louis-based brewer Anheuser-Busch agreed in July to combine to form Anheuser-Busch InBev in a deal valued at $52 billion.
