By Paul A. Harris

St. Louis, Mo., June 18 - Lyondell Chemical Co. starts the roadshow Wednesday for $275 million senior secured notes due July 1, 2012, according to a syndicate source.

The roadshow is set to conclude June 25, with pricing expected on June 26.

Salomon Smith Barney, JP Morgan, Banc of America Securities and Credit Suisse First Boston are joint bookrunners.

The deal will be sold from Lyondell's shelf registeration with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The notes are non-callable for five years.

Proceeds will be used to prepay approximately $200 million of the $621 million of outstanding term loans under Lyondell's credit facility and for general corporate purposes.

The issuer is a Houston-based chemical company.
