Angiotech asks court to close Chapter 15 case; CCAA plan implemented

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 15 - Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to enforce an order terminating its Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act case and to close its Chapter 15 case, according to a July 15 court filing.

The Supreme Court of British Columbia closed and terminated the CCAA case on July 14, the motion said.

Angiotech said its CCAA plan was sanctioned in April and implemented on May 12.

The company also said its court-appointed monitor does not know of any issues outstanding in the Chapter 15 case.

A hearing is scheduled for Aug. 18.

Angiotech, a Vancouver, B.C., specialty pharmaceutical and medical device company, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 30, 2011. The Chapter 15 case number is 11-10269.
