Longview Power seeks two-month exclusivity extension on amended plan

By Kali Hays

New York, Dec. 31 – Longview Power, LLC asked for a third extension of its exclusive Chapter 11 plan filing and solicitation periods in a motion filed Dec. 31 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Longview asked that its filing period be extended through Feb. 28 from Dec. 31 and its solicitation period through April 30 from March 2.

The company said that the extension will allow it to complete a “complex operational and financial restructuring without burdening the estates with competing Chapter 11 plans,” according to the motion.

Longview said it is now focused on obtaining confirmation of its amended plan of reorganization for which it is soliciting votes and that backstoppers holding more than 60% of pre-bankruptcy debt support.

A hearing to consider the extension is set for Feb. 18.

Longview, an integrated power generation enterprise based in Maidsville, W.Va., filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 30, 2013. The Chapter 11 case number is 13-12211.
