Longview Power plan confirmation hearing cancelled; no new date set

By Kali Hays

New York, July 9 – Longview Power, LLC’s Sept. 3 hearing to confirm its amended plan of reorganization has been cancelled, according to a July 8 notice with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

A new hearing date has not been set and all related voting and objection deadlines will be extended with specific dates and times to be fixed upon a new hearing date.

In addition, holders of claims who have already submitted votes on the current plan may withdraw their vote and submit a new ballot prior to a new voting deadline, according to the notice.

As previously reported, Longview said the amended plan was negotiated with backstoppers and other parties in interest and incorporates a modified structure that will facilitate the resolution of pending mechanics' lien claims asserted by Siemens Energy, Inc. and Kvaerner North American Construction Inc. without the necessity of claims estimation by the court.

Longview, an integrated power generation enterprise based in Maidsville, W.Va., filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 30, 2013. The Chapter 11 case number is 13-12211.
