Longview Power gets more time to file plan, garner support

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 28 - Longview Power, LLC was granted an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a plan of reorganization, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The court extended the company's exclusive filing period through March 14 and the solicitation period through May 14.

As previously reported, Longview said it needed the extra time to focus on the remaining restructuring initiatives that are important to its emergence from Chapter 11.

According to Longview, it must estimate at zero the claims that contractors hold against its estates through either a global settlement or through the estimation process, complete the purchase of the equity interest in Dunkard Creek and GenPower Services and, if necessary, resolve issues related to Dunkard Creek's funded debt and obtain confirmation of its plan.

The company said the claims estimation hearing is set for Feb. 7 and the plan confirmation hearing for Feb. 10.

Longview, an integrated power generation enterprise based in Maidsville, W.Va., filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 30. The Chapter 11 case number is 13-12211.
