Moody’s ups London Stock Exchange to A3

Moody's Investors Service said it upgraded London Stock Exchange Group plc’s (LSEG) long-term issuer and senior unsecured ratings to A3 from Baa1.

At the same time, the agency upgraded the ratings of London Stock Exchange plc to A3 from Baa1.

The outlook is stable.

Moody’s said the upgrade of LSEG's ratings is based on the increased strength of earnings and diversification of its business activities, supporting the firm's ability to service bondholders through a market cycle.

Key to the upgrade is management's consistent track record of maintaining a disciplined financial policy of 1 time to 2 times net debt leverage post integration of acquisitions.

The upgrade of London Stock Exchange plc reflects its own strong financial fundamentals as well as its close financial and business links with its parent, the agency explained.
