S&P: London Stock Exchange remains on watch

S&P said its A- long-term counterparty credit rating on London Stock Exchange Group plc remains on CreditWatch negative.

The agency said it continues to believe that the financial risk profile of the group will deteriorate if it acquires a majority stake in LCH.Clearnet Group Ltd.

The agency said the transaction would lead to an increase in debt, albeit potentially mitigated by an improvement in the group's business risk profile.

At the same time, the agency said it affirmed the A-2 short-term rating on the group.
