Fitch lifts Lithuania

Fitch Ratings said it upgraded Lithuania's long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating to A from A-.

The outlook is stable.

The agency said the upgrade reflects that solid real GDP growth has brought GDP per capita at market exchange rates close to 90% of the current A median, from 68% in 2014, when Fitch upgraded Lithuania to A-.

Fitch added that the economy has weathered the slowdown in its main trading partners, with Fitch revising its 2019 growth estimate upwards to 3.9%, a slight uptick from 2018.
