Moody’s revises Lithuania view to positive

Moody's Investors Service said it changed the outlook for Lithuania to positive from stable.

An ongoing improvement in key fiscal metrics is behind the outlook change, Moody’s said.

“Following a process of post-crisis fiscal consolidation and a pick-up in economic growth, the government's headline fiscal balance has been in surplus since 2016 and we expect the government to continue to record moderate fiscal surpluses of 0.4 and 0.3% of GDP this year and the next, respectively,” said Moody’s in a press release.

The agency affirmed Lithuania’s long-term issuer and senior unsecured ratings of A3.
