Details announced for new Lion Global-managed emerging-markets funds

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., April 19 - Advisers Investment Trust announced in an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it will offer class A and class C shares for two new Asia-focused, fixed-income funds, the Lion Global Investors Asian Credit High Yield Fund and the Lion Global Investors Asian Local Currency Bond Fund.

The Asian Credit High Yield Fund will seek total investment return consisting of a combination of income and capital appreciation by investing primarily in dollar-denominated debt securities of sovereign and corporate issuers in the Asian markets. Under normal market conditions, the fund will invest at least 80% of its assets in high-yield debt or debt-related securities of Asian sovereign issuers as well as high-yield securities of non-governmental entities underwritten in and sold primarily to investors in the Asian markets.

Veronica Ng is the lead portfolio manager and is assisted by Ching-Ching Chua and Chiong-Tuck Phoon.

The Asian Local Currency Bond Fund will seek total return consisting of a combination of income, currency appreciation and capital appreciation. Under normal market conditions, it will invest at least 80% of its assets in local Asian currency-denominated debt or debt-related securities issued by governments, supranational institutions or government-related bodies, companies and other large organizations that are based in or carrying out much of their business in Asian countries.

San-San Goh is the lead portfolio manager. Serene Lim and Phoon are also part of the portfolio management team.

For either fund, shareholder fees will consist of a 4.25% maximum sales charge for class A shares and 1% maximum deferred sales charge for class C shares.

The management fee will be 0.5%. An agreement with the investment adviser limits total annual fund operating expenses to 1.5% for class A shares and 2.25% for class C shares for both funds.

Singapore-based Lion Global Investors Ltd. will be the investment adviser to the funds.
