Andersons plans to use rail leasing business sale to pay down debt
Chicago, Aug. 16 – Andersons, Inc. announced that it plans to use the $550 million in cash proceeds from the sale of its rail leasing business to American Industrial Transport, Inc. initially to pay down debt, according to a press release.
The company also has plans to sell its remaining railcar repair business.
Andersons is a Maumee, Ohio-based diversified company with interests in the grain, ethanol and plant nutrient sectors as well as in railcar repair, turf products production and general merchandise retailing.
