Moody’s rates Liberty Mutual notes Baa2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned Baa2 ratings to €750 million of 10-year senior unsecured notes being issued by Liberty Mutual Group, Inc.

The senior notes rank pari passu with the company's dollar-denominated senior notes.

Net proceeds are expected to be used for general corporate purposes.

The outlook is stable.

Moody’s said the ratings are based on Liberty Mutual's solid market position in both commercial and personal lines insurance as one of the largest property & casualty insurance group in the U.S. with a significant international presence. Other credit strengths include the breadth of its product and distribution platforms and the group's overall good asset quality, the agency said.
