Moody’s rates Liberty Mutual notes Baa3

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Baa3(hyb) rating to the $500 million of 30-year junior subordinated notes to be issued by Liberty Mutual Group Inc. Moody’s senior unsecured rating for Liberty Mutual is Baa2.

The company plans to use the proceeds to repay its senior notes due in May 2022 and for general corporate purposes.

The outlook for Liberty Mutual is stable.
