By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 26 - L.G. Philips Displays USA, Inc.'s U.S. Trustee selected Jeoffrey L. Burtch to serve as trustee in the company's Chapter 7 bankruptcy case, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

According to the filing, Burtch has five days to reject appointment to the case.

The company's case was converted to Chapter 7 from Chapter 11 on Thursday following a failed attempt to sell substantially all of its assets.

L.G. Philips, a San Diego-based producer of TV and computer monitor tubes, filed for bankruptcy on March 15. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-10245.
