LG. Philips Display USA’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy case closed by court

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 3 – LG. Philips Displays USA, Inc.’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy case was closed Friday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The case closure notice said the company’s estate has been fully administered. The Chapter 7 trustee was also discharged as part of the final decree.

As previously reported, LG. Philips’ Chapter 11 case was converted to Chapter 7 in May 2006 after the company told the court it realized that it would be unlikely for it to sell substantially all of its assets through a Chapter 11 sale process.

LG. Philips Displays USA, a San Diego-based producer of TV and computer monitor tubes, filed for bankruptcy on March 15, 2006. Its Chapter 7 case number was 06-10245.
