Moody's rates LG Electronics notes Baa3

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned its Baa3 rating to LG Electronics Inc.'s proposed $300 million notes due 2010 and $300 million notes due in 2015. The outlook is stable.

Moody's said the rating reflects LG's strong presence in the global home appliances market, both in emerging markets such as Brazil, Russia, India and China, as well as in some developed countries, including the United States.

The rating also recognizes the company's growing mobile phone handsets division, the rating agency said.
