Fitch drops LG Electronics view to stable

Fitch Ratings said it revised LG Electronics Inc.'s outlooks to stable from positive.

The agency also said it affirmed its long-term foreign- and local-currency issuer default ratings at BBB and senior rating at BBB.

The outlook revision reflects LGE's weakened operating results and financial profile for 2010, Fitch said, and a view that the company's financials will not improve sufficiently to justify an upgrade over the next 12 to 18 months, the agency said.

But, Fitch said LGE will likely improve its profitability and financial profile from 2011 onward, due to a gradual recovery of its mobile handset business.
