Lexicon arranges $150 million private placement of stock with Artal

Investor purchases 149,253,731 common shares at $1.005 each

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Nov. 21 – Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. negotiated a $150 million private placement of stock on Thursday with Artal International SCA, according to an 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company will sell 149,253,731 common shares at $1.005 each. The price is identical to the closing share price on Nov. 19. It is also the same as that from the company’s concurrent public offering of stock led by J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and Goldman Sachs & Co., which will raise $47 million.

Based in the Woodlands, Texas, Lexicon develops treatments for human diseases.
