Lenox posts $2.43 million February operating loss

Pittsburgh, April 6 - Lenox Group Inc. reported a $2.43 million operating loss for February on $14.92 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

In comparison, the company posted a $3.89 million operating loss for January on $15.27 million in net sales.

The net loss for the latest period was $4.36 million, narrowing from a $5.74 million net loss for the previous period.

The company had $1.58 million in cash and cash equivalents at Feb. 28, compared with $327,000 at the end of January.

Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Lenox is a maker of tableware, collectibles and giftware. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Nov. 23, and its Chapter 11 case number is 08-14679.
