Lehman Brothers Holdings: Claims bought in several transactions

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 24 - Avenue Investments LP and its affiliate bought eight partial claims against Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. totaling $36 million million, according to documents filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Avenue Investments bought two $1.94 million claims from Morgan Stanley & Co. International and two $9.36 million claims from Morgan Stanley Capital Services LLC.

Avenue TC Fund, LP bought two $3 million claims from Morgan Stanley Capital Group Inc. and two $2.99 million claims from Morgan Stanley Capital Services LLC.

In addition, according to separate filings with the court:

• Goldman Sachs Lending Partners LLC bought a $1.35 million claim and a $3.15 million claim from Serengeti Opportunities Partners LP;

• Banca Esperia S.p.A. bought a $152.5 million claim from Credito Emiliano S.p.A.;

• Yorvik Partners LLP bought a $4.25 million claim from Bauer Davidhazy-Privatstiftung and a $2.83 million claim from Aloisia Bauer Gedachtnis Privatstiftung;

• Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch bought three claims totaling from UBS AG Zurich: a $71 million claim, a $4.63 million claim and an $8.53 million claim;

• Goldman Sachs Lending Partners LLC a $1.35 million claim from Serengeti Opportunities Partners LP and a $3.15 million claim from Serengeti Opportunities MM LP;

• BSOF Master Fund LP bought an $18.54 million claim from Goldman Sachs & Co.;

• Hudson Bay Master Fund purchased two $1.32 million claims from Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch; and

• Serengeti Opportunities Partners LP bought a $1.35 million claim from Barclays Bank plc and Serengeti Opportunities MM LP bought a $3.15 million claim from Barclays Bank PLC.

New York-based Lehman Brothers Holdings was the fourth-largest investment bank in the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 15, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13555.
