Lehman cash and investments total increases to $25.16 billion in July

Pittsburgh, Aug. 24 - Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. had $25.158 billion in total cash and investments at July 31, up from $24.409 billion at the end of June, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The July cash and investments total included $468 million of loan principal, $6 million of loan interest, $195 million of derivatives collections from live/terminated trades and $92 million of private equity/principal investing principal.

New York-based Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. was the fourth-largest investment bank in the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 15, 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13555.
