Barclays to get Lehman Brothers indexes as well

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 18 - Barclays plc will acquire Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.'s indexes as part of the proposed acquisition of Lehman Brothers' North American investment banking and capital markets operations, according to a press release.

Barclays said it is committed to maintaining the family of Lehman indexes and the associated index calculation, publication and analytical infrastructure and tools.

Lehman Brothers, which filed the biggest bankruptcy in U.S. history on Monday and plans to sell its key North American units to Barclays, is a financial services provider based in New York.

London-based Barclays Bank is the flagship subsidiary of financial services group Barclays plc.
