Lehman Brothers Finance receives $17.75 million payment via settlement

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 30 – Lehman Brothers Finance AG received a $17.75 million payment as part of a settlement of a lawsuit it filed against AB Svensk Exportkredit (SEK), according to a 6-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Svensk Exportkredit said the net effect of the settlement on its consolidated statement of comprehensive income is a pre-tax gain of SEK 290 million, consisting of the $17.75 million payment made to Lehman and a dissolution of an earlier established reserve for the dispute.

As a result of the settlement, Svensk Exportkredit said some additional distributions from other entities within the former Lehman Brothers group may be received in the future.

New York-based Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. was the fourth-largest investment bank in the United States. The company emerged from bankruptcy on March 6, 2012.
