Lehman Brothers Commodity files suit, says Sempra owes $104.7 million

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 23 - Lehman Brothers Commodity Services Inc. filed an adversary complaint against Sempra Energy Trading LLC and Sempra Oil Trading Sàrl alleging Sempra owes Lehman more than $104.7 million, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
Sempra is asserting nonmutual setoff rights in the matter, which stems from swap transactions entered into by the companies in 2006 and 2007.
New York-based Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. was the fourth-largest investment bank in the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 15, 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13555.
