Bank of America top U.S. liability management dealer and high-yield leader in December

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 31 - Bank of America Merrill Lynch was the number one ranked U.S. dealer manager of tenders, consent solicitations and exchanges year to date through December 2012, with 84 offers totaling $42.88 billion, or a 22.3% share, according to data compiled by Prospect News.

For the 2011 period, Bank of America Merrill Lynch also ranked first, with 57 transactions totaling $38.38 billion, or a 25.9% share.

The total number of offers year to date was 305 totaling $192.47 billion. Through December 2011, there had been 264 U.S. transactions for $148.11 billion.

Credit Suisse ranked second, with 48 offers totaling $22.63 billion, or an 11.8% share. The company ranked sixth for the 2011 period, with 35 deals totaling $10.25 billion or a 6.9% share.

Citigroup took the third spot, with 55 offers totaling $18.70 billion, or a 9.7% share. The company held the second spot for the comparable period in 2011, with 30 transactions totaling $15.78 billion or a 10.7% share.

Bank of America tops in U.S. high yield

Bank of America Merrill Lynch was the number one ranked U.S. dealer manager of high-yield offers for the year through December, with 62 totaling $27.46 billion, or a 26.8% share. The company also held the number one spot last year, with 42 deals totaling $29.93 billion, or a 36.6% share.

Total activity year to date rose to 198 totaling $102.33 billion, from 172 deals totaling $81.75 billion in December 2011.

Credit Suisse ranked second, with 40 offers totaling $20.33 billion year to date, or a 19.9% share. The company held the number two spot for the 2011 period, with 31 deals totaling $9.60 billion, or an 11.7% share.

Goldman Sachs was third with 25 deals totaling $9.91 billion or a 9.7% share. The company ranked 12th in the prior year.

Bank of America first in U.S. high grade

Bank of America Merrill Lynch was the number one ranked U.S. dealer manager of investment-grade offers year to date through December, with 21 deals totaling $15.40 billion, or a 17.7% share.

The total number of offers year to date was 65 totaling $87.04 billion.

Morgan Stanley ranked second, with seven deals totaling $10.90 billion, or a 12.5% share.

Citigroup ranked third with 20 offers totaling $10.66 billion, or a 12.3% share.

D.F. King tops in information

In December 2012, D.F. King ranked first for U.S. information agents, with 112 offers covering $86.22 billion, or a 44.8% share. The company held the number one spot for the prior-year period with 88 deals raising $65.63 billion, or a 44.3% share.

Global Bondholder Services ranked second, with 108 transactions for $65.58 billion, or a 34.1% share. The company was second for the same period last year, with 86 deals raising $50.71 billion, or a 34.2% share.

The third spot was held by Georgeson with six deals raising $17.08 billion, or an 8.9% share.

Top dealer managers

Bank of America is ranked number one for the tables covering all issuers and all currencies year to date through December 2012, with 121 offers totaling $67.31 billion, or a 6.3% share, also according to data compiled by Prospect News.

The total number of transactions year to date was 595 deals totaling $1.07 trillion.

Credit Suisse ranked second, with 72 deals totaling $58.78 billion, or a 5.5% share.

Citigroup was third with 120 totaling $49.51 billion, or a 4.6% share.

Deutsche Bank was the number one ranked dealer manager of convertibles, all issuers, all currencies through December 2012, with six deals totaling $1.78 billion, or a 10.0% share.

The total number of offerings year to date was 62 totaling $17.78 billion.

Bank of America heads emerging markets

Bank of America placed first among dealer managers for emerging markets in all currencies through December 2012, with 12 offers totaling $14.09 billion, or an 18.0% share.

The total year to date was 70 for $78.14 billion.

Goldman Sachs ranked second with 10 totaling $12.75 billion or a 16.3% share.

Citigroup was third with 26 deals totaling $12.33 billion year to date, or a 15.8% share.

Bank of America tops in junk

Bank of America Merrill Lynch was the number one ranked dealer manager of high yield deals, all issuers, all currencies for December, with 73 totaling $31.34 billion, or a 21.7% share.

The total for the month was 295 totaling $144.6 billion.

Credit Suisse placed second, with 49 totaling $26.84 billion, or an 18.6% share.

Citigroup was third with 50 deals worth $15.44 billion, or a 10.7% share.

High grade won by Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank was the number one ranked dealer manager of investment-grade deals, all issuers, all currencies in December, with 32 deals totaling $33.40 billion, or a 9.9% share.

The total was 172 offers for $338.14 billion.

Morgan Stanley ranked second, with 22 deals for $32.89 billion, or a 9.7% share.

Bondholder Communications tops for information

Through December 2012, the number one ranked among information agents, all issuers, all currencies, was Bondholder Communications Group with 20 transactions covering $302.49 billion, or a 29.1% share.

Hellenic Exchanges ranked second, with one transaction for $257.53 billion, or a 24.0% share.
