Lazard adds Mark Walker as senior advisor to sovereign advisory group

San Diego, June 6 - Lazard Ltd. announced that Mark A. Walker, former managing partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, has joined the company as a senior advisor to its sovereign advisory group based in Paris.

Walker joined Cleary Gottlieb in 1966 and has advised many countries on debt management, energy-related matters and complex international financings and structuring.

"Mark Walker is widely recognized as having advised on many of the world's landmark sovereign debt matters, which have become models for the management of international debt crises," Matthieu Pigasse, head of Lazard Financial Advisory in France and of the firm's sovereign advisory group, said in a press release. "We have worked with Mark on a number of client assignments and have admired him over the years. We look forward to adding his unmatched expertise to our global sovereign advisory team."

Walker earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his LLB degree from Yale.

Lazard is a financial advisory and asset management firm based in New York.
