Latvia to sell euro-denominated debut sustainability bond benchmark

By Rebecca Melvin

Concord, N.H., Dec. 1 – The Republic of Latvia plans to price a euro-denominated debut offering of sustainability bonds, according to a market source on Wednesday.

BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole CIB acted as joint sustainability structuring advisers of the Regulation S benchmark issue, and those banks together with Barclays were mandated to arrange a global investor call on Wednesday at 8 a.m. ET to present the republic’s new sustainability bond framework as well as a series of fixed-income investor calls.

A second-party opinion on the framework was provided by ISS ESG.

Pricing of the transaction was expected to follow subject to market conditions.
