Latam Airlines Group seeks second extension of exclusive plan periods

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Jan. 12 – Latam Airlines Group, SA is seeking a second extension of its exclusive periods to file a Chapter 11 plan and solicit votes, according to a motion filed Tuesday with U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Specifically, the company is asking to extend the plan filing period through June 30 from Jan. 29 and the solicitation period through Aug. 23 from March 23.

“Even with the meaningful progress the debtors have made toward a successful reorganization of their business, given the remaining steps that must be undertaken for the debtors in a case of this size and complexity, a further extension of the exclusivity periods is warranted,” the company said in its motion.

A hearing is scheduled for Jan. 27.

Latam is a Santiago, Chile-based airline. The company filed bankruptcy on May 25, 2020 under Chapter 11 case number 20-11254.
